The first Salvation Army Benefit Golf Tournament
was a success!
The tournament, held at the Lake Tansi Golf Course, was sponsored by Callaway Golf and Thrivent Financial Group. Thirteen teams played in the event, and immediately after play everyone enjoyed a big fish fry with all the fixin’s.
The winners in the First Flight, with a 16-under par 56 were Earnie Brown, Joe Woody, Doc Beatty, and Randy Speich. Second Flight honors went to Sonny Poland, Reed Sells, Bill Roberts, and Chris Hollingsworth.
While no one was awarded the $15,000.00 cash Hole-In-One prize, other prizes went to Sonny Poland, Ray Lee jr., Brandon Wynacht, Earnie Brown, Kathleen Purdy, and Chris Hollingsworth.
Many volunteers from the local Salvation Army of Cumberland County, along with volunteers from Thrivent Financial Group gave of their time, and put in a long days work to make things happen. And as with all local Salvation Army events, proceeds from the tournament went to support Salvation Army programs for Cumberland County children.
